AUS-basket is a basketball club connected to The University of Aarhus. You don’t have to be a student to play in our club, though many of the players are. We focus both on the sporting as well as on the social aspects.

On the sporting side we have 9 senior teams from the level of 1st division to the beginner’s level. So we should be able to find a team that fits you :-)

All the teams, except for the old boys/-girls teams, have a coach. We also offer coaching for people who has never played basketball before.

The 9 teams are:

Mens teams:
-AUS 1H. - 1. Men’s team: Plays in the 2nd division and practices 2 times a week.
-AUS 2H. - 2. Men’s team: Plays in the 3rd division and practices twice a week.
-AUS 4H. - 4. Men’s team: Plays in the 2nd series and practices twice a week. Team for beginners and little experienced players.
-AUS 5H. - 3. Men’s team: Plays in the 1st series and practices once a week. Old boys team.

Womens teams:
-AUS 1D. - 1. Women’s team: Plays in the 1. division and practices twice a week.
-AUS 2D. - 2. Women’s team: Plays in the 2. division and practices twice a week.
-AUS.3D. - 3. Women’s team (Kranerne): Plays in the 2. division and practices once a week. - Oldgirls team
-AUS 4D. - 4. Women’s team: Plays in the 1. Series and practices twice a week.
-AUS 5D. - 5. Women’s team: Practices twice a week. Team for beginners and little experienced players.

In addition to team practice we have built up several social traditions:

Weekend tournament "Stævne":
In the beginning of the season (first weekend of September) the club arranges its own weekend tournament. The club also participates in weekend tournaments organized by other clubs.

Parties:
We have at least 3 club parties including:
- A seasonstart party in oct/nov. "Davs i AUS"
-A Christmas party in December. “Julefrokost”
-A Spring party in February/March. “Forårsfest”
-An “End of the season”-party in May/June. “AUSlutningsfest”

Besides these parties each team also arranges their own social arrangements, for example a Christmas party, which is often arranged with another team of the opposite sex.

Christmas basketball "Julebasket":
This arrangement is held during the day of the Christmas party. The participants are divided into different teams (across the normal teams and sex). Each team is dressed up and different basketball-related competitions are held. It is absolutely not an advantage to take your car to this arrangement ;-)

Club tournament "Klubturnering":
The basket season normally ends in March. Instead of just practicing the club invites the club members to a club tournament which includes a male and a female competition. The club tournament teams are made across the normal teams. The matches are played as usual with referees etc. The winning team has the right to mock the others for a whole year.
Some players believe the club tournament matches to be the most important matches of the year.
